Nearly 2 years later the Dominican Republic has a US Ambassador

In a National Palace ceremony Wednesday morning four new ambassadors presented their credentials to Dominican Republic president Leonel Fernandez, including Raul H. Yzaguirre of the United States, Jose Rafael Torres, of  Costa Rica, Moshe Semoneta, of Israel and Thomas Schuller Gotzburg, of Austria

The National Palace Hall of Ambassadors was the site of the ceremony, with Foreign Relations Minister Carlos Morales also present.

Yzaguirre was a professor at Arizona State University, in Phoenix, before his designation, and replaced Robert Fannin, also from Arizona, in a vacancy that lasted nearly two years.
